Adopt an orange tree
An agricultural experience
The cultivation of orange trees in the Valencian Community is a key economic activity for the development of rural areas. It is part of the culture and history of the territory.
However, in recent years, Valencian farmers have seen how competition from outside the country is increasingly taking over the supermarket shelves.
This is affecting the quality of the fruit consumed, which is lower. It can even be grown under practices prohibited in the European Union.
In addition, this contributes to the impoverishment of local farmers, since in order to compete and sell their fruit they have to lower prices, leaving them with practically no profits.
This is the origin of the initiative ‘Adopt an orange tree’. This is an experiential experience in which you can visit a farm, taste oranges and eat a delicious paella. You will learn how oranges are grown and connect with the community that lives from this Valencian tradition.
You contribute to the support of farming families.
You receive the fruits of your adopted orange tree at home.
You reduce the likelihood of fires and promote the care of the land.
In addition, in order to reduce the carbon footprint generated by tourism in the area, for every traveller who arrives by plane to live an experience with us, we plant an orange tree.
